Jon Straughn
Jon Straughn has been in the seed business for over 25 years. Having spent most of his professional career working for a large national seed company focusing on seed sales to the professional market, Jon started Chesapeake Valley Seed in January 2013 to focus on customer needs and provide both personal knowledge and high-end quality products to the professional seed market. Jon graduated with a degree in Agriculture from the University of Maryland College Park and grew up in Catonsville, MD where he still lives to this day. He enjoys fishing and spending quality time with his family.
Gordon Kretser
Gordon Kretser is our business development leader at Chesapeake Valley Seed. He began his career in the seed business as a territory manager in the Mid-Atlantic Region for a large national seed company and rapidly developed business through his high energy and exceptional responsiveness to customer needs. Gordon grew up on the Eastern Shore in Salisbury, MD and is a graduate of Virginia Tech's Pamplin School of Business, majoring in Marketing and Business Management. Gordon continues to be very active outside of work and enjoys spending free time back on the Eastern Shore surfing and playing golf.
